10,000 lb capacity is the sweet spot for distribution and manufacturing dock lifts — it handles full electric sit-down forklift loads (including the machine weight of 7,500–8,500 lbs plus a loaded pallet) safely. The 60×84 platform is the minimum size for two-pallet handling; if your operation regularly moves two pallets simultaneously, this is the correct size. Step up to the 15,000 lb or 20,000 lb models if you're running LP gas forklifts (heavier) or moving oversized loads. Advance Lifts is one of the few remaining dock lift manufacturers that builds entirely in the US — parts availability and lead times are meaningfully better than offshore-sourced alternatives.
