Everything you need to make your decision
The Genie GS-1930 is the most widely deployed compact electric scissor lift in North America — and for good reason. At just 32 inches wide, it navigates single doorways, narrow warehouse aisles, and interior corridors without damage to walls or door frames. The 19-foot platform height (25-foot working height) covers the majority of facility maintenance tasks: lighting, HVAC, racking, sprinkler systems, and general overhead work. A 500 lb platform capacity supports two workers with tools. 24V DC electric power means zero emissions — approved for food processing, healthcare, clean-room, and occupied building environments. Drive-to-height capability lets operators drive to the next work area without lowering the platform. Non-marking foam-filled tires protect polished and epoxy-coated floors. Pothole protection bar automatically engages above 6 feet to prevent a wheel from dropping into a floor opening.

⚙️ Pothole Protection Bar

A mechanical bar extends outward from the platform's lower edge when elevated above 6 feet. If the machine approaches a floor opening, drop-off, or dock edge, the bar contacts the hazard before the wheel reaches it — automatically halting drive before a tip-over can occur. Non-defeatable by the operator.

🔒 Outrigger Interlock (RT Models)

Rough-terrain models cannot raise above a set height unless all four outriggers confirm positive ground contact. The interlock is mechanical — not software-only. A single outrigger without firm contact blocks elevation above the threshold, preventing elevation on an unstable base.

🛡️ OSHA-Compliant Platform Guarding

Full-height (43 in) guardrails with mid-rail and toe board meet OSHA 1926.502 and ANSI/SAIA A92.20 fall protection requirements. The self-closing entry gate uses a positive slam-latch that cannot be accidentally kicked open. Platform D-ring anchor for personal fall arrest (on most models).

📊 Load Management System

On-board sensors monitor platform weight continuously. Overloading locks out the lift function and displays a fault code — the machine will not raise until load is reduced to within rating. This protects the scissor mechanism from overload and prevents the stability limit from being exceeded.

How does this compare?

The GS-1930 vs. GS-2032: the 1930 is the go-to when doorways are the constraint — it's 32 inches wide vs. 46 inches for the wider platform 2032. If you need more platform space or higher reach, move up to the 2032 or 2646. For facilities with 36-inch door frames, the 1930 is the only production scissor that clears without removing the doors. For outdoor or rough-surface work, step up to a rough-terrain model — the GS-1930 is slab-only.
