The Bluff Manufacturing SA60-12 is a 6,000 lb capacity heavy-duty steel dock board — the essential piece of loading dock equipment that bridges the height and gap difference between a fixed dock floor and a parked trailer. While dock levelers handle height differences mechanically, dock boards are portable, simple, and can be deployed at any door in under 30 seconds. The SA60-12 is 12 inches wide and 60 inches long — sized for pallet jack and walkie pallet jack traffic. The 6,000 lb rated capacity handles most manual pallet jack operations and light powered equipment. Welded steel curb angle edges prevent wheels from slipping off the side of the board during transit. The carry loop and fork pocket allow one person to position, move, and store the board with a pallet jack. Dock boards vs. dock plates: dock plates are aluminum (lighter, portable, lower capacity — typically up to 5,000 lbs, hand truck and foot traffic only). Dock boards are steel (heavier, higher capacity — 6,000–15,000 lbs, pallet jack capable). For operations running manual pallet jacks, always specify a dock board at minimum. The 12" width is the standard for pallet jack traffic; step up to 24" or 36" if you need walk-alongside clearance.
