Everything you need to make your decision
The PitLift 500 is the entry-level lift table built for pit bikes, mini bikes, scooters, and anything under 500 lbs. A foot-pedal hydraulic jack raises the 48" x 16" steel deck from 7" to 28" — enough height to keep your back happy and your knees off the ground. The deck locks at any height with a mechanical pin, not just at the top. Fold-down side rails keep wheels from rolling off. Grip surface on the deck handles greasy bikes. Weighs 68 lbs, stores standing against the wall. No compressor needed — pure foot-pedal hydraulics.

Pit bike and mini-bike lift tables are compact, foot-pedal hydraulic platforms designed for small bikes, scooters, and maintenance tasks where a full-size table would be overkill.

Foot-Pedal Pump

A mechanical foot pedal operates the hydraulic jack — no electricity, no compressor. Each pump stroke raises the deck roughly 1 inch. Most small bikes reach working height in under 10 strokes.

Mechanical Pin Lock

A spring-loaded pin locks the platform at any height. The pin engages automatically as the deck rises. Pull the release lever or ring before pressing the lower valve.

Wheel Chock

The included chock holds the front wheel in place. Position the bike so the front tire sits firmly in the chock before pumping. For dirt bikes with knobby tires, consider an aftermarket chock with wider slots.

Lower / Bleed Valve

The release valve is typically a twist or push knob near the pump. Open it slowly to lower — the platform drops by gravity. Close the valve fully between uses to prevent creep.

Note: Storage: fold the side rails up and stand the table on its end against the wall. At 45–70 lbs, most pit lifts are easy to move solo.

⚙️ Pin Lock System

A mechanical pin locks the deck at any height — the pin engages automatically as you pump. The deck cannot drop without manually pulling the release handle or ring.

🏍️ Side Rails

Fold-up side rails prevent the bike from rolling off the deck. Always raise the rails before lifting. The rails are load-rated — don't use them as step-on handles at height.

🛡️ Pressure Relief Valve

Built-in hydraulic relief valve prevents over-pressurization if the pump is worked past the platform's rated capacity. The pump becomes noticeably harder to actuate as a natural overload warning.

⏹️ Controlled Descent

The lower release valve is needle-valve controlled — opening it fully drops the platform quickly, opening it slightly creates a slow, controlled descent. Practice slow descent to avoid jarring the bike at the bottom.

How does this compare?

Most budget pit bike lifts wobble. The PitLift 500 uses the same hydraulic cylinder found in medical procedure chairs — overbuilt for the weight class, which is why the warranty is generous. The mechanical pin lock is the detail most competitors skip; it’s the only reason you should trust a lift to hold a bike at chest height.
