The Genie AWP-20S is a push-around aerial work platform designed for single-person elevated access in retail, hospitality, healthcare, and light facility maintenance environments. No driving certification required — maneuver it to the work point on foot, deploy the four outrigger feet, and ascend to 20 feet of platform height (26 feet of working height). The 250 lb single-person capacity handles an operator with tools and a light material load. At 380 lbs, the AWP-20S can be transported in a standard pickup truck bed or cargo van — no trailer required. The cage platform is 24" × 30" with full-perimeter guarding and a self-closing entry gate. The AC electric lift motor runs on a standard 110V outlet — no special power required. Four locking outrigger feet provide a stable 5 × 5 foot base for safe elevation on level floors.

⚙️ Full-Cage Platform with D-Ring Anchor

Full-perimeter cage with self-closing positive-latch gate meets OSHA 1910.29 and ANSI/SAIA A92.3 fall protection requirements. Operators must wear a full-body harness with a lanyard connected to the D-ring fall arrest anchor at all times while elevated — the anchor is rated for the full OSHA 5,000 lb fall arrest load.

🔒 Tilt / Slope Interlock

An electronic inclinometer prevents mast extension on slopes beyond the rated threshold. If the machine moves onto an unlevel surface while elevated, all motion halts immediately. On push-around units, the interlock also prevents outrigger-free ascent — the machine cannot be "tilted up" by lifting a foot.

📐 Mechanical Outrigger Interlock

All four outrigger feet must confirm floor contact before the mast will ascend above the low-profile travel position. This interlock is implemented in the hydraulic circuit on most models — not software — making it physically impossible to bypass without mechanical modification.

🛡️ Emergency Descent System

A gravity-fed or mechanical emergency descent system lowers the mast to ground level without electrical power. The emergency descent valve is accessible from outside the cage and clearly labeled. All personnel lift operators must know the location and operation of the emergency descent before use.

How does this compare?

Push-around personnel lifts are the right tool when you need elevated access in occupied spaces — no exhaust, minimal noise, no drive motor creating hazards. The AWP-20S is ideal for light bulb replacement, ceiling tile work, and HVAC filter changes in occupied buildings. For taller ceilings (25+ feet), consider the AWP-25S or a self-propelled vertical mast lift. For work requiring repositioning at height, a self-propelled unit eliminates the need to lower, reposition, and re-ascend for each work point.
