Everything you need to make your decision
The Haulotte Star 10 is a push-around vertical mast aerial work platform designed for single-person elevated access in industrial, commercial, and institutional facilities. Haulotte's patented twin-mast design provides exceptional stability at 32.8 feet of platform height — the dual guide masts eliminate the rocking that single-mast units can exhibit at full extension. The 440 lb capacity handles an operator with a full tool bag and light materials. The 800 mm (31.5 inch) overall width fits through standard commercial doors and most fire-rated stairwell doors — making floor-to-floor transport straightforward in multi-story buildings. AC electric 230V lift motor (converter for 110V available). Powder-coated steel platform cage with full-perimeter guarding, self-closing gate, and harness anchor point. Haulotte's cold-weather startup package available for outdoor storage in climates below 14°F.

⚙️ Full-Cage Platform with D-Ring Anchor

Full-perimeter cage with self-closing positive-latch gate meets OSHA 1910.29 and ANSI/SAIA A92.3 fall protection requirements. Operators must wear a full-body harness with a lanyard connected to the D-ring fall arrest anchor at all times while elevated — the anchor is rated for the full OSHA 5,000 lb fall arrest load.

🔒 Tilt / Slope Interlock

An electronic inclinometer prevents mast extension on slopes beyond the rated threshold. If the machine moves onto an unlevel surface while elevated, all motion halts immediately. On push-around units, the interlock also prevents outrigger-free ascent — the machine cannot be "tilted up" by lifting a foot.

📐 Mechanical Outrigger Interlock

All four outrigger feet must confirm floor contact before the mast will ascend above the low-profile travel position. This interlock is implemented in the hydraulic circuit on most models — not software — making it physically impossible to bypass without mechanical modification.

🛡️ Emergency Descent System

A gravity-fed or mechanical emergency descent system lowers the mast to ground level without electrical power. The emergency descent valve is accessible from outside the cage and clearly labeled. All personnel lift operators must know the location and operation of the emergency descent before use.

How does this compare?

The Haulotte Star 10 reaches 10 meters — meaningfully higher than most North American push-around units (which top out at 25 feet/7.6m). The twin-mast design is a genuine engineering differentiator: the Star series is noticeably stiffer at full extension than single-mast competitors, which matters for precision work like hanging ceilings, installing ventilation grilles, or electrical panelboard work where platform stability directly affects work quality. For facilities that have dealt with platform sway on tall single-mast units, the Star 10 is the upgrade.
